Wreck Island is a small island in the archipelago west of McGlathery Island, near Deer Isle. It is owned by the Island Heritage Trust, a non-profit organization that protects and preserves the natural and cultural heritage of Deer Isle. Wreck Island is open for day use only, and visitors are asked to follow the "Leave No Trace" principles. The island has no facilities or trails, and dogs are not allowed. Wreck Island is a scenic spot for kayaking, birdwatching, and enjoying the coastal views.
