This loop covers some wooded habitat (along the railway tracks) that can be especially good for forest and edge species as well as offering some excellent views of Little Lake for waterbirds.
This hotspot covers a loop that is popular with birders who work downtown and want a short outing over a lunch break.
The loop begins at Millenium Park and follows the paved path onto the pedestrian bridged that crosses the rivers alongside the railway bridge. From here there is a loop that can be followed, walking along the railway tracks (technically no trespassing here, but many people do it) to just before you get to Maria Street, and then following the trailway along the lake's edge back towards the southwest where it meets up with Edgewater Blvd. Then you follow Edgewater Blvd back to the railway bridge and back across the river.
