There are long rows of mature conifers that could attract winter finches and roosting Merlin.  Good for migrant passerines as well.

This is the Iowa Department of Natural Resources' tree nursery that produces native trees and shrubs for planting throughout Iowa.  It is located on the south side of Ames on the east side of South Duff Avenue.  The entrance is adjacent to a fire station, which is easier to see from Duff Avenue.
