This is generally a quick stop, in conjunction with birding at nearby Buffalo Creek Wetlands. In the winter LeConte's Sparrow can often be found in the tall grasses just down from the parking area. Viewing the lake requires a scope, as the ducks are usually pretty far off. Walk down the path all the way to lake's edge. If the water is low, there can be a few shorebirds close to the point.
Variety of ducks. Sparrows.
This spot is hit and miss. Both dabblers and divers can be found here, sometimes in good numbers. Geese, gulls, pelicans, and grebes can also be found here in winter. North winds make for tough birding here and as mentioned previously, the birds are often far off.
No trails, but possible to wander around and bird.
