The Rush Run Ravines are a series of pocket parks and conservation easements protecting 3 branches of Rush Run in the Rush Run neighborhood of Worthington. The area is roughly bounded by New England Avenue on the north, Park Boulevard on the south, Morning Street on the west, and the railroad tracks on the east, roughly a half square mile. The best places to park are along South Street at the playfield, along Park Boulevard at the west end, or East Granville Street Park. The far east end is the old Harding Hospital, which doesn’t allow access yet. Most of the rest of the area can be walked along the roadways as well as a series of footpaths through the central ravine, both at Colonial Hills Elementary and Park Boulevard church. The area is very wooded, is considerably more productive than nearby East Granville Street Park, and has had nesting Coopers and Red-shouldered Hawks for many years. As an added attraction, much of the central part is called Rush Run Village, where nearly all of the houses have been designed by Frank Lloyd Wright acolytes, so it’s a wonderfully eclectic mix of houses and yards.
