There are many settling ponds. Check them all. Lots of waterfowl in the winter. One of the few places with constant water in S. Texas due to it's a waste water treatment plant.
Ringed Kingfisher, Green Kingfisher, also Belted. Green Jays and Audubon's Orioles. A great place to see a variety of birds and the occasional rarity.
There are a lot of trails throughout. Not all have signs. I would print out a google map and carry it with me. Make sure you have plenty of water because it gets hot in the afternoon. It's mostly walking. Only the entry road can you bird and it's pretty good at times.
