Lake Tashmoo has an area of 269 acres, a mean depth of 4.3 feet, and a tidal range of 2.0 feet.

There is a town beach on Vineyard Sound at the north end.  If you launch a car-top boat at the lake outlet, you can paddle along the beach area or the lake.
