About this Location

An extensive hiking trail where you can choose a short hike or spend the better part of a day. Habitat choices range with prairie, old growth trees, marshes, lake views and pine groves. I used to drive the roads before there was a lake. Later I hiked the area before there were trails. The hike through the pine groves was easy until you got to the descent to the marshland. The fields changed to prairie, then to tangled growth. The old growth woodlands are still there, the pines have gotten old and have reseeded themselves. Different species are now possible in the pine groves and in the old woodland.
