About this Location

The Riverside Trail may be the most popular trail in the Pinery. The trail (1 km) begins in dry upland oak/pine forest and descends into the floodplain of the Old Ausable Channel. There is a viewing platform plus a section of boardwalk along the water with two additional viewing platforms. This trail cannot be accessed by vehicle from November through April but some people will hike in from the closed gate. Do not confuse the Riverside Trail with the Riverside Campground. The trail is accessible for wheel chairs.
