Admission is $10 a day per person, with discounts available for children, military, and students.
The South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center opened in 1996 and has extensive trails blanketed in flowers and shrubs that provide habitat for resident and migratory birds. Some trails overlook ponds along Oso Creek that hold waterfowl year-round.
The gardens host the Birdiest Festival in America every year in April, which features multiple speakers and daily field trips locally and to other regions of Texas.
