There are several ponds throughout this park.
The first pond on the right has a central island with trees that appear to hold a heron/egret rookery.
Immediately after turning into the park from the highway, there is a dead-end road to the left. Follow that road a very short distance where you will find an old, overgrown road that runs along the highway and back to the river under the bridge.
