Mother Neff State Park is located in the east corner of Coryell County on the banks of the Leon River. More than 50 per cent of the 260 acres of the park is heavily wooded. in eastern cottonwood, pecan, sycamore, red mulberry, elms, cedars and a wide variety of oaks. The remaining acreage is limestone outcroppings and restored native prairie. A diversity of trees and shrubs, stone structures and rugged hills with deep ravines provide the best habitat for birdlife. Roadways and trails provide easy access to most birding habitats in the park.
