The Community Garden on Woodstock Avenue is one of two community gardens managed by the city of Rutland Recreation Department. A solar array has been built on a large portion of the property so bird habitat has been somewhat reduced. During fall after the community gardeners have put their gardens 'to bed,' sparrows can be found among the weeds and compost areas. There is access from a small road next to Mcdonald's on Route 4, but it's easier to parking next to Big Lots (the Home Depot shopping area) and walk up a small hill.
