About this Location

McCarthy Park covers an area of 32 acres and has playgrounds, picnic areas, sports fields, and trails. The park is named after John J. McCarthy, a former town selectman and state representative who donated the land for the park in 1958. McCarthy Park is open year-round and hosts several events and activities, such as concerts, festivals, and youth programs. The park is also home to the Medfield Community Garden, where residents can grow vegetables and flowers. 

Medfield State Hospital has closed and the property is under redevelopment.
