Akraberg

Akraberg

About this Location

Southernmost point in the Faroe Islands.(except some skerries). Wind-exposed. During spring migration, flocks of birds (waders, Redwing) may land on the fields to rest and eat. To some degree, the same might happen during fall migration. Seabirds, especially Northern Fulmar nest in the steep cliffs. As a peripheral point in the Faroes, rarities may be blown in here and in the neighboring hotspot, Sumba. Good seaview, and typical pelagic birds may come closer to land here.

Do not enter the cultivated fields. Respect fences and gates. Do not go close to the edge of the cliffs.
