Tips for Birding

Use the entrance on South Jackson Street (US-69).  Keep to the right to the lower parking area.  Follow the paved trail to the south and around the tennis courts. The dirt track ahead leads through good habitat for winter residents such as Hermit Thrush, Eastern Towhee, Fox Sparrow.  Eventually it winds around back into the disc golf course.  If you’re up for more walking there’s a paved trail winding through the park but the best habitat is along the first quarter mile or so of the unpaved trail.
