About this Location

Tanner-Hiller Airport was opened in 1946 by Fred and Catherine Hiller, who also ran a flight school business there. The airport was later owned by Leonard Tanner, who died in 1998. The current owner is G&C Group of Acton who bought the airport in 2017 and plans to open a helicopter school. The airport has one asphalt runway and is home to hang gliding and ultralight activities. The airport is adjacent to the Ware River and has scenic views of the surroundings.
