Mount Washington is known for its extreme weather and holds the record for the highest wind speed ever recorded on Earth, 231 miles per hour, in 1934. The mountain attracts many visitors who can reach the summit by hiking, driving, or riding a cog railway. Mount Washington also has a museum, an observatory, and a library that offers educational programs and resources about the mountain and its climate.
