Kestrel Land Trust Amherst, Massachusetts 01002
Official WebsiteAmethyst Brook Conservation Area is loved for its extensive trail network along the brook, for walking, running, and biking. You can also relax by the water and build some rock cairns on the shoreline. Or bring your kids to play in the water. Dogs and their owners also enjoy the woodland trails.
The Dorie Goldman Trail, built and maintained by Kestrel Land Trust, continues through land trust land and conservation land in Pelham, which hooks up to the Robert Frost Trail. Adjacent to these lands are woodlands and farmland owned by private landowners, which allow for respectful public access.
From the trailhead parking lot on Pelham Road, you can also enjoy the fields, which are home to some Community Gardens.
In winter, it is a good place to cross-country ski on the first days of new snow.
The AllTrails website has descriptions and maps of hikes at Amethyst Brook Conservation Area.
