Steele HS stands for Steele High School. DO NOT try to access this hotspot when school is in session!!
You can park in the school parking lot and walk down to the pond outside of school hours. Utilize the “windows” in the brush on the northwest side of the pond for best waterfowl viewing. When water levels are lower, the pond is fully accessible on foot.
There’s a small hidden trail on the southeast corner of the pond that leads into the brush that is good for warblers in the spring/autumn.
Assorted waterfowl, warblers, sparrows during migration seasons.
The Steele High School pond is located on school district land and is accessible only when school is not in session (so NOT between the hours of 8:45 am to 4:15 pm on school days).
