About this Location

Located in the northwest corner of Georgia and approximately 20 miles north of Rome, Camp Sidney Dew offers the natural beauty of the Appalachian foothills. Founded in the late 1930’s, the camp is a unique blend of old and new, with several of the early structures still in use.

Located in the valley between John’s Mountain and Horn Mountain (The Pocket), the camp’s 650 acres are bordered on the west by the Chattahoochee National Forest and on the east by John’s Creek. The camp’s rolling terrain offers an abundance of deer, wild turkey, and other wildlife, including a trout stream open annually to fishing. Other amenities include aquatics, archery range, athletic fields, cabins, climbing tower, dining hall, chapel, first aid station, welcome center, nature lodge, lakes, rifle range, crafts, shotgun range, pool, tree houses, and trading post.

Access to property is restricted unless attending summer camp or camping on property with a scout troop.  However the edge of the property can be birded by car along Everett Springs Road which affords views of a wetlands area and 2 bridges over John’s Creek.
