Bardwell Lake--Mott Park

Bardwell Lake--Mott Park

Tips for Birding

General Birding. Thickets would be the main draw here, although I'd imagine the campground with the scattered trees could be good if you time it right during migration. My experience at Lake Bardwell is that this is not the best place to view waterfowl.

About this Location

Although this is usually the only fee Army Corp Park that seems to stay open all year round on Lake Bardwell, it may be the park to get the least attention, along with Love Park. $5 entry fee at the kiosk, unless of course you have a pass. Credit card only.

Note: There is also a hunter's field to the southwest of Mott Park. This area adjoins Mott Park, but rarely does anyone hunt there. This area can be accessed by a turn stile gate on the south side of Bardwell Dam Road and generally gives better views of waterfowl close to the Bardwell Dam.

Notable Trails

None, or none noticed, but much of Lake Bardwell can be easily wandered.
