Independence, Missouri 64056
Bird the open ares and the woodland edges. Listen for birds in the deep woodland high in the trees. If you find wet woodland look for Water thrush.
Warblers, flycatchers, sparrows, hawks, woodpeckers, thrushes and possibly cerulean warbler.
Good warbler birding in the spring. About three miles from 78 Hwy. to Bundschu Road, mostly old growth woodland. South East from 78 Hwy. more prairie habitat. Follows more closely to the river. An Eagle nesting area.
Watch for bikers. Birding was better before they paved the trail. Look for gravel spots.
