Silver Lake Outlet flows from Silver Lake to the Winnipesaukee River. The outlet is about 2.5 miles long and has a drainage area of 8.3 square miles. The stream passes through several dams and mills that were built in the 19th and 20th centuries to harness its water power. Silver Lake Outlet is a popular spot for fishing, kayaking, and wildlife viewing.

Silver Lake is a natural freshwater lake that covers an area of 216 acres and has a maximum depth of 47 feet. The lake is popular for fishing, boating, swimming, and camping. There are two public beaches on the lake, one at the north end and one at the south end.
Silver Lake is bordered by the town of Tilton on the west and the town of Belmont on the east. The islands in the lake are in the town of Tilton.
