365 Recreational Rd 5, Livingston, TX 77351
From the gazebo it is possible to view the outflow of the Lake Livingston Dam. Waterbirds, wading birds, and raptors gather here to feed, sometimes in huge numbers. Adjacent prairie and wooded areas along the road hold sparrows and warblers seasonally.
American White Pelicans, Brown Pelicans, Neotropic and Double-crested Cormorants, Herring, Ring-billed, Laughing gulls with possibility of Lesser Black-backed and other migrants.
The location itself is in Polk County, as are the entire dam spillway and the majority of the visible shoreline on both sides. South down river on the far bank - where the natural Trinity River channel can be seen - is in San Jacinto County.
