The Tin House Fire Road trail is a narrow, multi-use fire road that feels closer to a trail most of the time. It is steep near the bottom and climbs almost 1700' elevation to the historic "Tin House." The lower trailhead is on Highway 1 across from the large, parking "vista point" pull-out with expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Lucia Mountains. Most of the trail is within Julia Pfeiffer-Burns State Park. Hikers can connect with the Tanbark Trail to the north for a 6.5 mile loop.
