Tips for Birding

Named for Tipi Village open space -- which no longer has tipis but does have native oak trees -- this hopspot is used for several connecting green spaces as well. The Sueno orchards on the southside of Sueno road can be birdy and are open to the public; the cape honeysuckle here is alive with hummingbirds year-round. The community gardens north of Tipi Village are not open to the public, but can be viewed through the fence. Farther north there are eucalyptus trees that can hold birds. No facilities are available.

Birds of Interest

This site is not highly visited, but a few raries have been found here including a Yellow-throated Warbler (Spring, in palm trees along the bike path); Green-tailed Towhee (Fall, in Sueno Orchards). Native habitat is limited, but the community gardens and flowering exotics might be good places to find surprises.
