About South River Marsh

South River Marsh is a salt marsh located northeast of Marshfield. It is part of the South Shore Coastal Plain Ecoregion. The marsh is also an important natural resource for the local community, as it offers recreational opportunities, flood protection, water quality improvement, and carbon sequestration. The marsh is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Marshfield Conservation Commission, with the help of volunteers and partner organizations.
