Frederick Weston Memorial Park is named in honor of Frederick Weston, a prominent local figure known for his contributions to the community. When Frederick Weston died in 1965, he envisioned his legacy to the people of Middleboro as a place where residents could enjoy the beauty of the woods and wetlands surrounding Tispaquin Pond. To that end, he bequeathed land that he owned in the area to be known as the "Frederick Weston Memorial" in memory of his father.
