Not a very birdy location, but if you happen to need to be there and waiting, you might as well run by the Veterans Park. There's usually a Curve-billed Thrasher or a Pyrrhuloxia nearby. Sometimes some sparrows in the nearby open field. The north edge of the airport area is sparsely traveled and borders the scrubby Permian Basin habitat.
