Mason Creek Park is a natural park that offers a scenic hike and bike trail along Mason Creek and a stormwater retention pond. The park covers 76.5 acres and has 2.35 miles of paved trail that connects to Katy Park, where visitors can find picnic areas and restrooms. The park is located off Porter Road, between Morton Ranch Road and Franz Road, about 1 mile west of the Grand Parkway and 1.5 miles north of I-10. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk and has free parking. The stormwater retention pond serves as a wetland habitat for wildlife and improves water quality in the area.
The main paved trail around the stormwater retention ponds is 1.5 miles long. There are shorter trails off the main trail allowing access to more habitat near the water. Benches are available at regular intervals. An additional 1.5-mile loop of paved trail extends west along the creek to Katy Park.
