Terra Park

Tips for Birding

This pond occasionally attracts a few water birds.  Many records of rarities occurred prior to or during renovation of the pond when it was larger or the water was drawn down, so conditions are different now.  The pond is now a popular fishing spot and the playground and trail system attract many more people.

Birds of Interest

Occasionally small number of waterbirds will occur here and Mississippi Kite sporadically occurs in the area.  Trails leading from the park into adjacent greenspace can be good for migrants.  American Woodcock sometimes display in appropriate habitat here.
