The location of this hotspot is where the Southern Lapwing was initially found. The lat-long coordinates initially given took birders down a one lane road, W Levy Road without sufficient room to turn vehicles around. When you drive down the road, you will have to back out about one-half mile before you reach a steep ramp leading off the levy. Beginning April 16, 2014, the Southern Lapwing changed location a short distance as a Lapwing flies to a much more convenient location near the Llano Grande Golf Course Club House. To get to the Club House you have to return to Hwy 83, drive west about one mile and then back south to Golf Course Drive.
