Forest Sewage Lagoons

Forest Sewage Lagoons

Tips for Birding

Turn off Brush Line and drive towards the compost site. Watch for the entrance to the lagoons on the left side. Park along the north side of the road and walk in to the viewing stand. You can walk completely around the southwest lagoon, and occasionally around the northwest lagoon if the grass is cut. Walking along the road to the compost site can yield a variety of songbirds during spring and fall migration. Check all 3 ponds and the road for the best result. A scope is very useful for shorebirds, especially from the berm between the north and south lagoons.

Birds of Interest

Ducks, geese, swans, grebes, gulls, shorebirds and songbirds.

About this Location

There is public access to this property throughout the year although the ponds may be frozen from late December through late March.
