Tips for Birding

The bluffs overlook the Rio Grande River and provide an excellent view point from whence to look for waterfowl on the islands and gravel/sand bars.

Rio Bravo is what Mexicans call this river. 

A scope is a must from here due to the distance to the birds. 

About this Location

Roma is an old and historic city and makes for a fun stop when birding in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. 

The downtown area, where the bluffs are located, lends one to feel they are in an Old World cuidad (city in Spanish) or pueblo (village in Spanish).

If the city offices or chamber of commerce office is open, restrooms might be available.
