The main trailhead for this large Boulder County preserve is on 104th Street south of Dillon Road. From the parking lot on the east side of 104th, you can either take the trail east past Stearns Lake or walk south on 104th to the Cradleboard Trail. Habitats include prairie, small wetlands, patches of riparian shrub and woods, and at least one small pond. In recent years (2023), parts of the trail network have been closed to prevent disturbance of a pair of nesting Bald Eagles. There are extensive prairie dog colonies that at times attract other raptors as well as the eagles.
