Walk the numerous trails throughout the park. The trails can be seen on Google Maps. The park is in a flood plain so please be prepared for some muddy trails during rainy days.
This park is home to breeding warblers in the summer, many migrants in the spring and fall, and many woodpeckers in the winter. Hummingbird feeders and native plants near the nature center can attract Rufous and Black-chinned Hummingbirds in the fall. Lick Creek has two bird blinds one near Fox Trot Trail is ADA accessible and the pathway is paved from the parking lot all the way to the blind. The second bird blind can be found on Yapon trail just tucked in the woods and is a favorite viewing spot for woodpeckers, owls and warblers. The parks staff set out water and food regularly at the Gary Halter Nature Center and both bird blinds.
Lick Creek Park is a city park with a small nature center and many trails. There is no entrance fee, but please stop in the Visitor Center for maps, program details and upcoming Birding Events.
