About this Location

Chadwick Pond is a 177-acre Great Pond situated in Boxford (8 acres) and Haverhill (169 acres). The Pond was named for a popular teacher who worked in the Haverhill school system in the 1700’s. It is a popular fishing spot with limited roadside access.

This Pond has no inlet stream and is presumed to be fed by springs and groundwater. A dam is situated on the sole outlet stream which flows from the northeastern end of the Pond. The closest road approach can be found along Lilly Pond Road which intersects Boxford’s Main Street near the Far Corners Golf Course. Lilly Pond Road becomes Baker Street and several pull-off spots can be located here, although the narrow road leaves only marginal room for passing vehicles, so caution is advised.
