Birds of Interest

Most standard Faroese birds (gulls, Whimbrel, Meadow Pipit, etc). One might here also find waterbirds that like to keep a longer distance to humans, like Horned/Slavonian Grebe and Red-throated Loon/Diver.

About this Location

A larger lake that is the immediate neighbor of another hotspot, Lower Toftavatn. In addition to the standard birds of the area (gulls, Whimbrel, Meadow Pipit, etc), one might here find waterbirds that like to keep a longer distance to humans, like Horned/Slavonian Grebe and Red-throated Loon/Diver. Telescope an advantage. Please stick to paths (of which there a few). No good parking for this hotspot. The most convenient is to use the parking indicated for the neighboring hotspot, Lower Toftavatn.
