One could start birding near the "show barn" and campground area. Walk along the creek and see what might be found in the large oak and hardwood trees along its banks.
It's also possible to park on the south side of the creek and walk up the creek on that side.
There is a pedestrian bridge on the western end of the park to go back and forth across the creek.
Some winter waterfowl though in lower numbers than what might be found at Brady Lake. Green Heron in the sping and summer. Mississippi Kites nest in the park.
Golden-fronted, Downy and Ladder-backed Woodpeckers throughout the year.
Ash-throated, Great Crested and Scissor-tailed Flycatchers, Western Kingbird, and White-eyed, Bell's, Yellow-throated and Red-eyed Vireos in spring and summer.
Richards Park
