About this Location

The best place to find some of the more unusual species in Jackson County. Farm land with patches of bushy habitat along the roadways. Mostly paved roads with only a couple gravel roads left. A few marshy areas which dry out during dry periods. Bordered by the Missouri River on two sides, the Little Blue River on one side with old growth ridges along this river. Roadside birding and timing of visits are essential to maximize the species list. Some roads may be gated. Watch out for farm equipment.
