211 Sparrow Hawk Drive, Shelbyville, Kentucky 40065
Drive along the road and scan the water and the strip of grassy land between the lake and trees. On the eastern end of the pond there are cattails, so you might find sparrows and some marsh birds.
In winter, there have been Cackling Goose and Ross's Goose there among the Canadas. There has also been a hybrid type Snow/Ross's Goose, so be careful with your identifications and get photos if possible. Occasionally, ducks are there in winter.
This is a retention pond in a residential neighborhood. Please drive slowly as children are often present. It's best not to linger too long; the lake can be viewed in its entirety in 15-20 minutes, easily.
