The pond is your best bet for birds. During the late spring, whistling ducks can be found here, and other assorted waterfowl are present during the winter. Warblers are also present. Utilize the primitive trails to maneuver around the pond. The paved trail is average and short, but can have some good birding moments as well.

The pond and trail are reachable directly off the HEB parking lot. The trail is paved and leads to nowhere; you must backtrack to leave. The pond has a few primitive trails around it as well.
