Boothbay Harbor Footbridge

Boothbay Harbor, Maine 04538

About this Location

The Boothbay Harbor Footbridge is a wooden pedestrian bridge that spans over 1,000 feet across the harbor, connecting the east and west sides of the town. It was built in 1901 by Luther Maddocks, who operated a hand crank to open the bridge for passing boats. The bridge has been rebuilt several times due to ice and weather damage, but it still retains its historic charm and offers scenic views of the water and the boats. The bridge provides easy access to shops, restaurants, and attractions on both sides of the harbor.
