Along with John Paul Landing Park just east of here, this park offers not only a wide variety of typical Harris County birds, it also is a great place to see birds which are moire commonly found farther West.
Paul Rushing Park is a Harris County Pct 4 park. Asphalt trails wind around the lakes and open fields. There is a lot of parking and several restrooms.
From the official website: "Spanning 232 acres, Paul D. Rushing Park offers over 2 miles of asphalt trails leading into and over wooden bridges and pathways showcasing teeming wetlands. Traverse the trails while birdwatching for local and migratory birds residing in or visiting hte park's shallow lakes. Amenities include baseball/softball fields, cricket fields, a dog park, lakes, picnic areas, and playgrounds. The park was named for well-renowned engineer, Paul D. Rushing, Texas A&M graduate who created many infrastructure projects throughout the region."

The ponds on the south side of the park are the official wildlife viewing area known as the "Chain of Lakes" with 2.83 miles of paved trails and boardwalk.
