Check the area around the parking lot and walk along the lake on a makeshift trail made by fisherman. The trail leads to a spot to check the backwater area for herons and possible neotropical migrants along the way. Also check the opposite side of the road where you can walk down the hill to the lake. There’s a parking spot on that side of the road here 37.45717, -84.55085.
