The River Road trailhead is adjacent to the I-80/I-90 bridge over the Maumee River.

The Toledo Metroparks share of the Chessie Circle Trail starts on Glanzman Road across from Beverly Elementary School, crosses Detroit Avenue, and continues for more than a mile to River Road. Along the way, it crosses a new bike and pedestrian bridge over the Anthony Wayne Trail.

Named for the railroad that once used the corridor, the Chessie Circle will one day extend for 11 miles, connecting North and South Toledo and the University of Toledo main campus with the University of Toledo Health Science campus.
