Pumpkin Hill Town Forest Master PlanThe Pumpkin Hill Town Forest is accessed by Township Road 62, which runs north from Trestle Road. Trestle Road runs from VT-2B on the east, west to Penny lane road.
The forest is approximately 100 acres in size (indeed, it was once known as 100 Acre Woods) and most of the boundaries are now well-marked. The property is mostly forested and contains a diversity of forest and habitat types.
A large field opening is mowed regularly and maintained as a recreational field. there are numerous small wetlands and wetland natural communities, one of which, a rich fen, is considered to be a very rare and unique natural community.
Historically, the forest was the site of the town farm. Remnants of the farmhouse foundation still exist.
