Harris County Park in Pct. 4 now, has mixed variety of habitats, good roads & parking lots/spots inside the park. There are mixed woods (deep & more open), pine woods, lots of edges, open grass fields with scattered mature trees, creeks-ponds-swampy areas, You can bird from the car in summer, but there are many shady areas walking the roads or trails.

In addition to a great variety of sparrows in winter and migrating warblers, a regularly wintering Greater Pewee is a highlight of this park. Red-headed woodpeckers are also frequently seen and heard. On a good day in season, you can find six woodpeckers. Bald Eagles are seen here fairly often.
Bear Creek Pioneers Park is 2,154.6 acres in size, and offers over 2.5 miles of trails. Amenities include an aviary and wildlife habitat, and 16 restrooms. Heavy rain may cause portions of the park to flood and some roads within the park to close. Water features include Langham Creek, Bear Creek, and a small constructed pond.
