West Branch SP—Kestrel Way Trails

West Branch SP—Kestrel Way Trails

Tips for Birding

Several trails begin west, north, and east of the parking area, providing access to forest and wetland habitats. The short Discovery Trail loops west and north of the parking area through forest and wetland areas; a portion of the Buckeye Trail connects to this trail going northwest toward the East Boat Ramp on Gilbert Rd. Directly north of the parking area are a wildlife blind and observation deck providing some views of wetland habitat and the reservoir. The Meadow Loop trail is east of the parking area. It connects to the Tower View Spur trail, which goes north, ending at the edge of the reservoir.

About this Location

Parking is available in a small gravel lot in front of the park resource manager's office on Kestrel Way. Several trails are located north of Kestrel Way, between Gilbert Rd. to the west and the dam access road to the east.
